This association was registered on 23 March 1995 as Persatuan Kesukaran Pembelajaran Spesifik , Wilayah Persekutuan. In the AGM of 2008, the members agreed to change the name to Persatuan Dyslexia Malaysia since membership has exceeded 1,200 members from the whole of Malaysia.
